Mission
The Watertown Area United Way is a
non-profit community based volunteer organization whose purpose is to assist in
meeting human care needs of Watertown area residents.

History
The Watertown Area United Way was
formed in 1971. Prior to that time it was called the Community Chest. From
1982-2006, the Chamber of Commerce managed the day to day functions of the
United Way. In February of 2006, the Watertown Area United Way hired a full
time Executive Director as the needs of the organization grew.
United
Way helps introduces new creative programs to the community though financial
support. The Watertown Area United Way serve as an agent to collect funds for
local charities. United Way is focused on mobilizing the caring power of
communities and making a difference in people’s lives.
