Tips for a Successful Workplace Campaign
Looking to inspire your team and make a real impact? Here are some proven ways to run a fun, effective, and meaningful United Way campaign at your workplace:
Kick It Off with a Rally
Invite a trained United Way volunteer or agency representative to speak at a staff meeting or rally. Hearing firsthand how donations change lives brings the mission to life and energizes your team.
Make It Fun with Incentives
Get creative! Offer perks like:
-
Extra PTO for giving at a certain level
-
Prize raffles
-
Matched employee donations
-
VIP parking spots
Incentives help employees feel appreciated for their generosity.
Lead by Example
When leadership gives, employees follow. A corporate gift demonstrates your organization’s commitment and can encourage team-wide participation.
Volunteer Together
Support volunteerism by offering staff a set number of paid volunteer hours each year. You can even match hours with a company donation to maximize impact.
Recognize Big Givers
Say thank you in style! Provide co-branded apparel (your company logo + United Way logo) to Heart Club donors—those who give $500 or more annually.
Host a "Fun-raiser"
Get the whole team involved with light-hearted fundraising events like:
-
Chili cook-offs
-
Bake sales
-
“Pie the boss” if you hit your goal
These build camaraderie while supporting a great cause.
