United Way Mission Statement:

The Watertown Area United Way is a nonprofit community based volunteer organization event whose purpose is to assist in meeting human care needs of Watertown Area residents.

Calendar Information:

United Way saw the need for a community calendar centered around social services to meet human care needs so United Way worked with the Helpline Center to develop a solution. United Way's Community Calendar's goal is to meet human care needs through events that provide community education, health solutions (on a sliding fee scale, with reduced fees or at no cost), financial assistance, necessary items, like skills, and personal development opportunities.

To meet this goal, only the approved events listed in the Inclusion Guidelines are allowed. Each submission will be reviewed before it may be put on the calendar. Please read Inclusion Guidelines before submitting an event. Watertown Area United Way reserves the right to alter any event description or heavy marketing language, deny any event submission for any reason without explanation, and cannot guarantee your event will be listed before your event if you do not follow submission guidelines as stated below. United Way will not list fundraisers during the annual Black Out Period from September 1st through end of October 31st.

Calendar Guidelines:

Only events physically held in Codington, Hamlin, Deuel, Grant, Day, and Clark Counties can be submitted.

To ensure event success please look into listing your event on the other calendars provided in the inclusion guidelines and next tab. Also, put it on your own social media, write a press release, put on your own website, and use other various marketing strategies to promote the event.
